Anemia's effects on my hair 🙄

Hello everyone, I'm new here, and I wanted to share my experience with anemia and how it had a significant impact on my hair. Back in 2018, when I was trying to conceive, I discovered that my iron levels were dangerously low. My doctor recommended a progesterone test to determine if I was ovulating. Some hours after taking the test, I received a call from my gynecologist's nurse, urging me to come in immediately for a retest of my iron levels. I did just that, and the results were staggering....my iron level was terrible!!  So, for those of you experiencing similar issues with recurrent hair breakage, I urge you to check your iron levels. Anemia can wreak havoc on your hair and significantly impact its growth rate.

I started taking iron supplements like they were candy, and the improvement in my hair was remarkable. Not only did my hair become healthier, but it also started growing at a much better rate. I hope my story can help someone else who might be facing the same problem. Remember, taking care of your overall health can have a positive impact on your hair too. 😊

I didn't realize this. My iron levels are low, and I haven't been consistent with taking my pills recently. I've definitely noticed more hair shedding than usual. I need to get back on track with my iron supplements. I'm really thankful that this discussion was initiated.

Hi Ms. Lalu,

I'm glad you brought up the topic of hair shedding due to low iron levels. It's a reminder for many of us to stay consistent with our supplements and to always prioritize our health. Let's keep each other updated on our progress and continue to support one another on this journey.

Hello again,

Well, my energy levels are up, no more gasping for breath, body aches have lessened, and those odd ice cravings? Gone!

Before I started the supplements, my iron level was at 9.0, dangerously low. I'm looking forward to seeing where I stand when I visit my doctor in August. There's been a bit of mild constipation and an upset stomach at the beginning, but it got better over time. Now, I feel energized, climbing stairs is no longer a daunting task, and I haven't felt faint.

I've made it a habit to take my supplement with a glass of orange juice; it really helps with the iron absorption.

Alos, I've been focusing on iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and red meat to boost my iron levels naturally.

It's all about nurturing your body from the inside out. Stay healthy and keep positive, everyone! 😊
